False video memory report?, roflzor if this is true :)

Officer - Strategy Officer Group: TDL Special Ops Posts: 2025 Member No.: 16 Joined: 8-November 04	I bought a new ASUS EAH4850/HTDI/512MB. Installed it & everything works fine. Then I went to DXdiagnostic tool and after a successful scan it says I have 1024MB video memory ... on a 512MB card as specified on the box Ermmm... ok Then I check in CATALYST Control center: Still 1024MB !!! OK... lets do some independent check... I D/L Everest to check comp specs, and still it says 1GB video memory: Can anyone explain me this? Bugzor? Or... I`ve got an additional 512MB memory on my card I`ve checked at ASUS site and it says there are 3 models of HD4850 card. http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=2&l2=8&l3=725 One is clocked, second is 1GB, and third is the same as my card. I did a visual check it and it fits the specifications of my model of the card (positioning of transistors on card & some small details). -------------------- MGbabo

Clan Leader - Commander in Chief - BF2 WA Group: TDL Leader Posts: 4548 Member No.: 1 Joined: 10-July 04	so you have 512... the rest is hypermemory... for example i have under vista 1600mb.... but i have 512mb card... that tmean the rest is reserved for graphic card in case it needs more !!!! howere normal ram is not as fast as system ram so it will slow down anyway -------------------- Did you ever know that you're my hero?
